Pop
On November 8th Pop suffered from a severe hemorrhagic stroke. It was awful and left him paralyzed on one side and absolutely incoherent. He could sometimes open his eyes and occasionally squeeze your hand but I believe that was all reflexes. He suffered infections, herpes, water blisters, and a high grade fever for 3 weeks in the neuro ICU. We actually thought we were going to lose him and prepared for that. Fortunately, when his breathing tube was removed, he in fact did not choke and die he actually took breaths on his own and proceeded to snore. I guess he was sleeping through the whole thing. Thank heavens he did not pass away. Now he is doing rehab in the hospital. He has been moved out of the ICU and into a regular hospital room where he is doing well with his therapies. He is even starting to say words and definitely is more coherent. I am so glad we didn't lose him and just hope he rehabs well.
