For instance...
this morning I go in to wake him up and he is just rolling around in his bed saying that he is still sleeping. He pulls the blanket over his head and says that it is not morning yet. I lay down beside him and hug him and kiss him to try and wake him up. He says, "Just sleep mom. It is better."
Even though I agree with him 100% I also know that we have to leave the house for school in 30 minutes. And, believe it or not, school is more important than sleep.
Then, Ryker tries to get up and he says, "Mom, I can't get up. Somebody has glued me to my bed."
So, I had to proceed with a "super glue remover" and pry him from his bed.
Ryker then jumps out of bed with a smile and says, "Thanks for taking off the glue, now I can go to school." He has the widest smile on his face and his eyes are bright. Ready for the day. What a character.
(This whole waking up process only took 15 minutes. Next time I better not "snooze" twice and jeopardize our punctuality.)
